SEPWA Trials 2008
Are you wondering what barley and wheat varieties are best suited to your area, the SEPWA variety trials could well provide you with your answer? Every year the SEPWA conducts barley and wheat variety trials across the Esperance Port Zone from Jerramungup to Condingup and north to Salmon Gums.
These trials play an increasingly important role for grain growers in the region when it comes to choosing wheat and barley varieties for their cropping program. One of the key factors of farmer adoption of new crop varieties is the confidence that the new variety is suited to their local environment. This confidence has translated to grain growers in the Esperance Port Zone adopting new varieties up to two years ahead of the remainder of the state.
