The Department of Agriculture and Food assists the State's Agriculture, Food and Fibre sector to be sustainable and profitable, with a clear focus on export-led growth. The Department enhances the international competitiveness of the State's agribusiness by working with them to meet the increasingly demanding standards for safety and quality of food and fibre products produced in an environmentally sustainable way.
The Grains Research and Development Corporation is one of the world's leading grains research organisations, responsible for planning, investing and overseeing research and development, delivering improvements in production, sustainability and profitability across the Australian grains industry.
CSIRO, the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation, is Australia's national science agency and one of the largest and most diverse research agencies in the world.
South Coast Natural Resource Management Inc. is the peak regional group for NRM on the South Coast of Western Australia. Funding is provided by the Australian Government and the Government of Western Australia. Since 1994, South Coast NRM Inc. has played a major role in developing and implementing NRM activities in the Region and is committed to the sustainable long-term management of our natural environment that will have positive social and economic outcomes. The Regional Group benefits from strong community, industry and government support for activities, reflecting the strong sense of ownership and commitment within the community.
The National Landcare Program (NLP) is a longstanding programme within the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry which supports the Landcare movement and the sustainable use and management of natural resources.
The Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation was established by the Australian Government to work with industry to invest in research and development for a more profitable, sustainable and dynamic rural sector. Their mandate is to achieve results from R&D investment in new rural industries, specific established rural industries and national rural issues.
Combined Universities Centre for Rural Health (CUCRH)
The Combined Universities Centre for Rural Health is the Western Australian University Department of Rural Health funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing. It is an academic centre of all five Western Australian universities: Curtin University of Technology, Edith Cowan University, University of Western Australia, University of Notre Dame Australia and Murdoch University. The CUCRH mission is to significantly contribute to the health of rural and remote Western Australian communities through education, professional development and research.
